Vietnam allows to import big replacement motorcycle

    According to Vietnam's promise to WTO, Vietnam allows domestic enterprise or individual to importe big replacement motorcycle.
    Vietnam ministryies of trade, industry, finance, police and transportation are concentrating on drafting out document of big replacement motorcycle importation which will release before long. The document includes import procedure, driving licence, allowed vehicle etc.
    Furthermore, it prescribes the imported motorcycle model, tarriff, gas emission standard and security.Big replacement motorcycles were only allowed to used by Veitnam police, army and motorcycle club before.
    According the promise to WTO, big replacement motorcycle is a sensitive merchandise which should be imposed high tariff. Especially for motorcycle with replacement excel 800cc will be imposed 100% tariff from Jan 2007. It will reduce to 40% after 2015.
